Summary:
Baxter Springs Little League earned its seventh consecutive state championship with a two game sweep over Southwest Kansas Little League at Baxter Springs' field.
Baxter Springs pitcher Adam Thomasson struck out 13 and hit a pair of three-run homers to lead his team to a 12-5 win in game one. Justin Underhill hit a 240-foot blast to snap a 2-2 tie in the second, while Shane Adams also homered in the win.
The next day, Weston Cox homered in the top of the first to give Southwest Kansas an early 2-0 lead, but Baxter Springs stormed back with three, three, and five runs in the first three innings to take the lead and eventually pull away.
