Region Tournament Hosts
Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament (2001-Present)
Little League Baseball's Eastern Region encompasses eleven states and the District of Columbia. From 1957 through 2000, teams from ech of these areas competed through the Eastern Region tournament for a single berth in the Little League World Series.
In 2001, the Little League World Series was expanded from eight to sixteen qualifiers, and for international tournament purposes, Eastern Region state champions were divided into Mid-Atlantic and New England regions that each produced a Little League World Series qualifier. Mid-Atlantic and New England Region leagues remained part of the Eastern Region from an administration standpoint.
In 2022, New Jersey and New York began competing in the newly created Metro Region as the Little League World Series was expanded from 16 to 20 participants. As with the prior expansion, these states remain part of the Eastern Region for administrative purposes. States in the Eastern Region now compete for three berths in the Little League World Series, as winners of the Metro, Mid-Atlantic, and New England Region tournaments all advance to South Williamsport.
Four teams currently compete for the Mid-Atlantic Region championship, including representatives from Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
