The top two teams in each pool advance to the semifinal round.
Ties are broken based on records in head-to-head competition among tied teams. If a clear winner cannot be determined from head-to-head results, the tie is broken by calculating the ratio of runs allowed to defensive innings played for all teams involved in the tie. The team with the lowest runs-per-defensive-inning ratio advances.
In the event of a tie involving three or more teams, once the initial tie is broken, the remaining tied teams are again compared on head-to-head record to determine if a clear winner can be identified. If no clear winner can be identified from head-to-head results among the remaining tied teams, the runs-per-defensive-inning ratio is again used. This process is repeated until all ties have been broken.

Northern California Championship Game (Tuesday, August 1)
River Park 1, Woodcreek 0 (TITLE)
Summary:
Pinch hitter Dylan Carbajal's fifth inning home run provided the game's only scoring as River Park Little League edged Woodcreek Little League, 1-0, in the Northern California championship game at Joe Wagner Field in Corte Madera.
River Park pitchers Jordan Luplow and Ryan Clark combined to hold Woodcreek to only one hit in the championship game, a fourth inning single by Junior Casas. Woodcreek pitcher Kyle Dixon scattered five hits and struck out ten against a powerful River Park offense that slammed 32 home runs and scored 167 runs in 16 district, sectional, and divisional tournament games.
Carbajal's homer, which caromed off a tree beyond the left field fence, was his second since the start of international tournament play, and helped River Park to its third victory in four games at the divisional tournament. The Fresno-based league split its two pool games, then reached the championship game by topping Palo Alto National Little League, 5-1, in the semifinal round.
River Park and Palo Alto National's players were very familiar with one another -- River Park had won when the leagues met in the 2004 Northern California championship game in the 9-10 year old division, then Palo Alto returned the favor when the two met again in the final game of the NoCal 11-year-old championship tournament in 2005. But River Park threw a curveball of sorts at the District 52 champions when manager Jim Ferguson handed the ball to pitcher Trevor Crough for their semifinal round meeting. The off-speed specialist had not pitched previously in the divisional tournament, or against Palo Alto National at younger age levels. Crough allowed only three hits against a Palo Alto team that posted a collective .350 team batting average entering the semifinal round meeting.
"Trevor was kind of our secret weapon," said Ferguson. "He's all over there with those three to four arm angles, (and) we have been saving him since we knew we'd have to beat Palo Alto at some point."
"We ran into a very crafty pitcher," concurred Palo Alto manager Dave Goldman. "We were having trouble picking the ball up."
River Park generated much of its offense through four solo home runs, including three consecutive blasts in the fifth inning. Jordan Piha's RBI double in the sixth inning provided Palo Alto's only run.
Earlier in the day, Woodcreek had claimed the first championship game berth with an 8-4 victory over El Rancho Chico Little League. Zach Icardi struck out eight in a complete game effort, while Casas and Kelvan Pilot each homered to pace the Woodcreek offense.
Woodcreek, which advanced to the Northern California championship game in the major baseball division for the first time, became just the third Northern California league to reach the major baseball divisional tournament in three consecutive years. Visalia American Little League won four consecutive sectional titles between 1994 and 1997, and Danville's San Ramon Valley Little League won three consecutive NoCal championships between 1991 and 1993. The core of Woodcreek's team had also joined River Park and Palo Alto National in divisional tournament competition at younger age levels the prior two summers.
River Park advanced to the West Region tournament in San Bernardino, California, following the divisional tournament. River Park swept its first five opponents, and advanced to within one game of the Little League World Series before falling, 11-3, to Ahwatukee American Little League (Phoenix, Arizona) in the region championship game.
