NOTE: District 3 encompassed all of Eastern Washington (the geographies that became Districts 5 and 6 in 1959) as well as Northern Idaho and Western Montana. The district was divided into four areas for tournament play in 1958, and two of the area champions following playoff games advanced to the state tournament.
From 1954 through 1965, most leagues in Seattle and neighboring areas of Western King County (the geographies that became Districts 7 and 8 in 1959) did not compete in the international tournament. Seattle officials decided to emphasize local competition, and instead organized a separate Greater Seattle Little League championships tournament. Typically, each of Seattle's two districts determined a winner, and these two teams then played a best-of-three series that determined a Greater Seattle champion. For 1957, the two district champions from this area were Georgetown (Seattle) and Northeast Seattle.
Leagues in the Vancouver area (the geographies that became District 4 in 1959) competed in the Oregon state tournament structure in 1957 and 1958.
